MISSION STATEMENT
We do Pokémon history!
In one form or another, this website has been around since 2017. We got our start penning videogame retrospectives on the now-defunct chronocritic.com. Over the years, however, we’ve shifted to the chronicling of Pokémon history and rebranded accordingly to PH.com in 2021.
Our main focus is Pokémon event distributions to the videogames. Think Wish Chansey, Toys R Us Darkrai, FLETS Wobbuffet, Concert Chatot, Shokotan Tropius, or Tretta Rotom. We enjoy deep dives into related topics like the PC New York or Daisuki Club. Long-form analysis is our bread and butter, and you’ll find only original research on this site.
That said, we’re slowly expanding into archival work of audiovisual materials (Pokémon Scoop, TPC newsletters, booklets and leaflets), have dissected Shogakukan’s PokéStamps in a series of articles, and don’t shy away from subject areas like the Pokémon TCG, manga, and anime. There’s just so many delightful stories to be told!
CONTRIBUTIONS
PokemonHistorian welcomes guest-writing and guest-research, and you can expect full credit for your contribution(s).
Guest authors will have an account created for them, and all future articles they write will also be credited to that account.
